On the front side of the 2 lev note there is Saint Paisiy Hilendarski, the author of the monumental work «Istoriya Slavyanobolgarskaya» («Slavonic-Bulgarian History»). On the reverse side of the note there is a fragment of this book. On the front side of the 5 lev note there is a portrait of the famous Bulgarian artist of the early XX century — Ivan Milev Lavev, on the reverse side there are the reproductions of some of his works. On the 5 lev note a portrait of the scientist Petar Beron is depicted together with his astronomical instruments, the 20 lev note has an image of the Bulgarian National Bank. The portraits of the poet Pencho Petkov and the writer Aleko Konstantinov adorn the 50 and the 100 lev notes respectively.
