The Czech koruna (CZK) is the currency of the Czech Republic. One Czech koruna is equal to 100 hellers, but now all the coins of less than one koruna denomination, as well as the notes of less than 100 koruna denomination were completely taken out of circulation.

The banknote denominations are 100, 200, 500, 1 000, 2 000 and 5 000 korun. The coins are 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 korun.

The front side of the 100 koruna note depicts Charles IV. A portrait of the priest, the teacher and the writer John Amos Comenius adorns the 200 koruna note. The 500 koruna note depicts the famous Czech writer — Božena Němcová. On the banknote of 1 000 korun there is a portrait of the prominent political figure of the XIX century — František Palacký. The 2 000 koruna note pictures the Czech singer Emmy Destinn and Euterpe, the Muse from Greek mythology. The 5 000 koruna note depicts Tomáš Masaryk, the sociologist and the philosopher.
